What is it?

Top Dogs of Arkansas is an online voting contest in which pet owners will submit photos of their beloved pets for a chance to win prizes, and of course, bragging rights. Arkansans from across the state will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dogs in each category. The winner and runner-up in each category will represent a month in the 2011 Top Dog calendar!

How does it work?

1. Pet owners upload photos of their dogs and choose the appropriate category.

2. In the first round, the public votes for their favorite dogs in each category. Registered users are allowed three votes, per category, per day. An in-house panel also participates. The top 12 dogs in each of the six categories advance to the next round.

3. In the second round, the public will vote for their favorite dog in each category. Again three votes, per category, per day. The top six dogs in each of the six categories advance to the next round.

4. In the third round the public will vote for their favorite dog in each category. Again three votes, per category, per day. The winner and runner-up in each category will represent a month in the 2011 Top Dog calendar.

5. The panelists will choose a Top Dog from the winners and runner-ups in the third round of voting. The Top Dog will be featured on the cover of the 2011 Top Dogs Calendar.

Can I still vote if the contest has already started?

Yes. As long as it is still within the voting period.

Can I vote more than once?

Yes. Registered users with a valid email may cast 3 votes per category, per day. Come back every day to cast votes for your favorite entries. Vote for the same person multiple times or spread your votes around.

Are there prizes?

Yes! Arkansas Top Dog (Best in Show) will win a Canon EOS Rebel XS with 18mm-55mm IS lens, Promaster 2GB Memory Card, Promaster 58mm UV Filter, Promaster Case and Free Training from Bedford Camera and Video valued at $700(1 awarded). Plus the winning photo will be featured on the cover of the Top Dogs Calendar for 2011!

Category winner- Gift Basket with gourmet treats and more valued at $50 from Just Dogs Gourmet; Portrait package valued at $80 which includes 20 poses, 1-8x10 and 4 -4x5 prints from Dixie Knight Photography; $40 gift certificate to use at Chenal Pet Palace for grooming or boarding; 2011 Top Dogs calendar with photo of winner.
